today was a another wonderful day,, Retta & Nathan along with some great friends,, helped Missy move into her new house in Frankfort, she dropped me off at Cardinal Hill where I spent all day with Jerry, he is doing so good.. so happy to see him finally hopeful,, he was greatly surprised when in comes Arlene, Tommy & Connie Caudill from beaver.. made his day, except for a few bouts of tears, happy tears,, so much joking & old stories , Nathans parents, Glenn & Sherry Robinson came to visit. really appreciated all the Robinsons have done for us, Arlene & I were treated to a family member who came to visit.. Chad Combs,, we all enjoyed just talking about the good old days.. Jerry ate really good today.. he was just so happy, after all our company had left as we were just sitting & talking , he grabbed my hand & with such sweet words , he asked me to help him learn to pray with just the right words so that God would hear him.. of course I prayed with him,, but after I told him that the important words are never important to God , He just wants us to talk to Him, He hears our hearts .. I have been serving God for a long time but I never know the right words, God wants us to have an open heart toward Him.. that is all it takes. I told Jerry, after you have been in this a little while , you begin to feel when you have touched God with your prayers,, but until we feel that we just keep on talking that is what is so important.. he asked me do you think I can learn.. I told him he has come farther than some that have been going to church for 50 years. the words will come just naturally one day you wont even realize it becomes second nature to pray.. after supper sitting he said he wanted to talk to somebody from church. so I called Sis. Rosetta, he calls her jabber jaws..so I got her on the phone,, he told her he was practicing singing & would be home to sing as soon as he got out. could hear the joy & rejoicing from where I sat.. . after we had hung up it seemed just minutes til Sis. Martha called which she calls so often, I am sorry I am so slack in calling folks & keeping everyone up to date with Jerry,, forgive me. , I talked to her because the nurse was checking his sugar, I heard him tell the nurse that was his family from church calling to check on him.. sweet words to my ears.. said to tell her he was practicing he knows my name,, his very favorite song Sis. Martha & Bro. Ollie & Sis. Tonya sings.. which I know they will be happy to share with him.. He has kidding everyone for a few years or threatening as we joke to sing but this time he is serious.. singing for the Lord.. last but never least Kendra & the girls came to visit for a little while but Jerry was worn out by such a good day of visitors & phone calls.. many phone calls today promising to visit tomorrow.. so happy that God has did what man couldnt.. God never gives up even when it looks so dark.. God shows up & shows out.. Praising him all the day long is never long enough...was just thinking what a dreadful last Sunday & Monday was & now hope fills our hearts.. Jerry said today, if God never touches me any more I have been blessed just to come this far.. that is something for him to say but I told God has not brought you this far to leave you now.. Thanks all for being our prayer warriors..
