...tonight I was mowing the front yard and Merrick was sitting inside the front door so I can see him...went to check on him them went back out to pull some weeds on the side of the house...walked into the back yard to throw the weeds away (about 5 mins)...went into the back door to check on Merrick an he was gone..after checking the house twice and not finding him...frantic mode kicked In and I was running around screaming at the neighbors that we needed to find him...hopped in the car to make sure he wasnt headed toward Mt. Pleasant...made sure he wasnt outback by the creek...called 911 and the dispatcher informed the officer down the street had him...I was so upset and crying so hard...she was trying to tell me what street he was on and I couldnt even comprehend...what seemed like an eternity was probably 12 minutes...thank goodness right around the corner lives a Major from the Sheriffs department and noticed my boy walking down the sidewalk in a t-shirt, diaper and socks...tried to ask his name, well you know how well that worked so he called 911 as well...I thank God for watching over him on his adventure and keeping him safe...I thank Robert for being such a great man and taking him on many walks down the sidewalk so he didnt get in the road...still tremendously upset thinking something could have happened to him...grateful it didnt...makes me feel like I failed as mother!!!
