The interesting relationship to the conflict, that may not be obvious, is how this is related to the fact that Gaza borders are closed. Gaza borders with Israel are semi closed (we do send them daily fuel, water, food, and electricity and receive wounded to our hospitals) but given the situation that they shoot at us this is well understood. Fewer people understand why the border of Gaza with Egypt is closed - The reason is that Gazans are now smuggling arms out from Gaza to Egypt to be used in the attacks on the Egyptian army with quite a few Egyptian soldiers dying.
