udges Commentary*: This exotic mystery is wonderfully infused with local color. The mystery itself is well crafted and carefully plotted and twists abound. The writing is solid, especially the naturalistic dialogue. This is clearly an author with talent and one to keep an eye on. Where the book tends to fall short is in its presentation. The text reads more like a manuscript than a finished book, with underlines in place of italics, passages in a script font, and even the end left in at the end.
