update -- i will make this quick because i am at work. Went and saw dad this morning. We had a few minutes of tense moments when dad was agitated and he worked the ventilator tube out of correct position which dropped his oxygen down to 79% but they gave him ativan and increased the vent which they had decreased down to 45% but increased to 55% now. They performed a tracheostomy today since he is going to be on it longer so it doesnt paralyze his vocal cords. They also changed his orogastric tube to a nasogastric tube. They said the pneumonia doesnt show much improvement but the pulmonary dr said he goes by the blood gases which have improved. They switched to intermittent dialysis and there was a small amount of urine today. Continuing to make baby steps but any step forwards is gr8.
