update :Debbie Miller Three weeks! Written a minute ago Whoa! If our tentative discharge remains the same , 12/12/13...Jake will be home in three weeks...well three Thursdays, but we are just about done with Wednesday! Busy couple days for Jake! He continues to have the busiest therapy schedule....and he is working very hard, he loved seeing the therapy dogs yesterday and told me how much he misses his dogs! Soon Jake, soon! He also has been doing additional therapy on the trike around the halls, he is like the mayor, shaking hands, kissing babies! And is truly a ladies man, all the nurses simply adore him! He got a haircut and he has been stalking ifs Facebook and everyone elses! Once he jumps on a page he is checking out all the pictures as well! Some very exciting news to share...Jake has started to take all his medications by mouth! This is huge, because it takes us one step closer to getting rid if the tube in his stomach! If he keeps this up a few days I think we will be oak! The only other thing keeping it there is the water twice a day, which I no longer think he needs. But right now he is about 60-70 percent of what he should take in fluid, our goal by next week, bring this up so we can get rid of the water also! The other big news is Jake is doing so well in PT with his walking that he can now walk with only one person (not even a therapist....but with either mom or dad) and a cane and a gate rat around waist for safety...this is supervised by a therapist. The goal is that maybe in a week he will be able to walk that way non supervised. Meaning it would be worked on in evening and the therapists can work on other things! Praise The Lord! Please keep praying that Jakes right side begins to respond and Jake continues
