(v.40) But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” When fellowship with God is replaced by service, we can quickly become judgmental of others – Martha even accused Jesus of not caring. But, the motive for our service is not a sliding scale comparing us with others. The motive must be our love for Jesus, and our service must be a result of time sitting at His feet in worship and in the Word. Will follow Mary’s example today? Sit at Jesus’ feet!
