#vacature #dierenarts CLINICAL VETERINARIAN - EXOTIC ANIMAL MEDICINE - NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY - COLLEGE OF VETERINARY MEDICINE The College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University is seeking a Clinical Veterinarian of Exotic Animal Medicine. This position is time-limited for a duration of one year. Responsibilities: This position will work with a team of clinicians within the exotic animal medicine service. The selected candidate will: 1). Provide high quality effective and efficient patient care for a variety of exotic animal species. Clinical responsibilities will entail all of the duties associated with case management (client and referral veterinarian communication, development of a diagnostic and treatment plan, interpretation of diagnostic findings, implementation of a treatment plan, surgery, post-operative care, development of a home care plan, fiscally responsible management). 2). The individual will participate in the emergency roster. 3). Provide clinical expertise with strong skills in exotic companion mammal medicine. 4). Participate in high quality clinical teaching for veterinary students and house officers. Qualifications: 1). DVM or equivalent degree. 2). Clinical expertise with birds, reptiles and exotic small mammals is required. Preferred Experience: 1). Residency training, with a focus on avian, reptile, and exotic mammal species is preferred. 2). Board certification or eligibility for certification in ABVP (Avian or Exotic Companion Mammals) or ACZM. 3). Experience with teaching senior year DVM students is preferred. Experience with teaching DVM students in a clinical setting with exotic animal species is also preferred.
