very weird moment leaving chinatown where i bought a plate of food then walked into the subway and saw a homeless man sitting on the bench near the turnstile and asked him if he needed a swipe and he was like no but im hungry and he looked at my plate and i was like ah i just bought this but do you want a dollar? and he was like ehh, okay and then i gave him a dollar and walked away then walked back and gave him my food because i felt way too guilty about the fact that i didnt wanna give up my plate of food to a person who was hungry cause i hadnt rly eaten it yet when its like yo when was the last time this person had a warm meal id like to think that under different circumstances where im not financially dependent on the kindness of someone else, id have had no problem giving the dude some food. but when youre in the midst of a struggle yourself, empathy is like, not the first thing on your list of priorities feelin p upset lol
