Goals: way to facilitate communication with council delegate; work collaboratively on regional issues; and advocated for regional initiatives and problems. • Educational (Grow Our Own Jobs/Employee’s by Region (Six Meetings – Seeking Partnerships with Higher Education Institutions and Grant Funds), Awarded a Youth Grant Proposal for 2013 Summer, Facilitated Partnerships Between: PWCC and NATIVE, Work Force Development with PUSD & Dine College, Took Lead on Establishing Increase for Sales Tax by One Cent, ½ Cent Going to Scholarships). • Health Services (Held Health Summit and Established CHIP Regional Council with Five Community Representative Selected, Residential Solar Projects, Manymules Residential Waterline Project Phase1-4). • Veterans (Held 2 Regional Veteran Summits and Laying Foundation to Establish Dzil Yijiin Regional Veterans Council, Starting Advocacy for Veterans Health Center in Pinon, Advocacy for Veterans Mobile Services Unit to Come to Pinon on a Bi-Monthly/Weekly Basis). • Established New Dzil Yijiin Judicial District with Seven Chapters in District Four 4) Chapter Certification for Community Development: Sponsor Certification Legislation for Pinon Chapter • Economic Development (Held 2 Summits (June 2011 & July 2012), Working on Creating Regional CDC, and Strategic Planning, Identifying Funds for Cleanup of 2 Business Site Lease(s) in Pinon, Took Lead on Establishing Increase for Sales Tax by One Cent, ½ Cent Going to Economic Development). • Housing (Held Housing Summit Aug 2011 at PUSD and Master Community Planning by SWABACK). • Faith Based Council (Establishing a Dzil Yijiin Regional Faith Based Council with Plan of Operation & Bylaws to obtain Non-Profit status to address the social services needs of the Dzil Yijiin Region). • Public Safety (New Dzil Yijiin Judicial District Established for Region in 2012, Advocacy for Public Safety Complex: Police Substation, Court & 32 Bed Detention Facility (Pinon Placed on Priority List by Law & Order Committee in 2012 & Third on Priority List in 2013), Advocacy for Navajo County Cross-Commissioning, Taking Back Our Community Forms requesting in 2014 Budget: 4 New Police Officers, 2 New Prosecutors, 1 New Public Defender, Reassign 1 Probation Officer to Dzil Yijiin Judicial District).
