via Standing Up, A Path to Being Whole Again. I love what is on the post. I have not watched the video...as I read the article though I was a little disappointed. I thought it was finally going to make the claim that no DOMESTIC VIOLENCE should be excused away. Domestic violence starts when we are children...boys and girls both experience it, in fact that is where they learn what is acceptable. A distorted view of what is acceptable...but there seems to be this notion boys are tougher so no need to address it. Mine are not expert words here...I am just saying that I speak to men and women and often in their childhood they were both diminished...they were both abused, they both felt worthless, or were made to be the parent, or made to be seen and not heard, or....the list goes on and on. The focus should not be on WHO the victim is but that there is one. I do think the intention here is excellent. LETS FOCUS ON THE Perpetrator and HOW we STOP the violence. THIS is OUR problem...not his or hers...HUMANITY needs to give a shit enough to change it. It starts almost always behind closed doors and far too often ends up there. Lets throw the doors wide open...educate, inform, SPEAK. Everything in the shadows needs to be brought out into the light. I will watch the video...and continue to be, along with many of you, a voice for change. Label cruelty for what it is, no more excuses~dri
