< via Vinutha Mallya> The beginning of the #policestate in #Karnataka. Total ban on #religious criticism in #secular #India! Who defines what is malicious and misleading? This is a gross misuse of Section 66 (A) of Information technology Act and Section 153 (A), 295 of IPC, and against the Constitution of India which guarantees freedom of speech and secular debate on religion. Everybody should appeal to CM, Karnataka, of the secular Congress party, to withdraw this repressive and unnecessary advertisement. There is no state of emergency in Karnataka, no riots like in U.P., this Govt. order is absolutely indefensible. All concerned citizens please write to Shri Siddaramaiah, CM, Karnataka, ([email protected]) an atheist who has himself been a strong critic of religious dogma, to withdraw this gag order with immediate effect. As far as I understand any citizen of India can be booked under these laws as long as someone residing in Karnataka likes or forwards a message/image written/uploaded by you. Please share, protest and ensure that your rights are protected.
