via our youth camp also. Tonights sermon was entitled Let no one despise your youth(1 Timothy 4:12). Question: why wouldnt anyone despise your youth if you have a mediocre performance? i can guarantee an impossibility. We need to inculcate integrity, maturity & excellence. We also realized that maturity has almost nothing to do with age but integrity. We drew lessons from Daniel, shadrach, Mishach & Abednego( Daniel 1:3-8; 3:23) who at their tender age rose up to the high standard. People commonly call them 3 Hebrew boys but the bible says men Iinstead of boys. Bible evidence shows us that they were about their teenage yet because of maturity they were called men. We also looked at Jesus at the age of 12, He wasnt a slave of public opinions but powerful man to reckon with both spiritually & intellectually such that all who heard Him were astonished. (Luke 2:47) Which 12 years old child can astonish professors of religion & theology and Lawyers today like Jesus? Almost none , but why not if it is possible?(Philippians 4:13) We also looked at the founders of the biggest protestant church-SDA. In 1844, Ellen White was 17 years, Uriah Smith 12, JN. Andrews 14, James White 23 etc...look who started the church, Was it about age or integrity? The greatest want of the world is the want of men—men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.- Ellen G. White, Education, page 57. YOU NEED TO BE A MAN TO STAND NOT A BOY, AND IT IS NOT A QUESTION OF AGE BUT INTEGRITY IN A CULTURE OF MEDIOCRITY. Darius Serenje Bwalya Chama, Lay Evangelist.
