The film takes an unvarnished and unbiased look at the highly publicized and polarizing stop and frisk policy as well as the role police have in the community. The story is told through the eyes of Jason Farmer a veteran NYPD Detective and Harlem native. Jasons unique view of the community in which he lives and works offers a keen insight into the life of officers who have a difficult and often thankless job. He encounters three young men Omar, James and Eric on separate occasions and his judgment of who each of these men is may cost someone their life. We successfully raised $11,000 to complete principle photography and need an additional $9,700 to finish the project. ------------------------- The Incident With the recent incidents of unfortunate interactions between the NYPD and citizens throughout New York City this film aims to shed light on both sides of the issue. While making the film life unfortunately imitated art as a group of NYPD officers stormed onto our set with their guns raised threatening to shoot. Even after acknowledging the mistake, many officers continued to threaten and verbally assault actors and members of the crew. Fortunately no one was shot. Whats most disconcerting is the frequency of incidents like this one and the lack of any proactive action to prevent more casualties. This film is an example of that proactive approach.
