Chris Dewees and Rick Starr worked together for many years to generate scientific information to improve global fisheries conservation and management. Now the colleagues are teaming up to provide an artistic glimpse into the fascinating oceanic realm that covers more than 70% of planet earth. Chris is a well-known Japanese fish printing (gyotaku) artist and has shown his works worldwide. In 1976 he co-founded the Nature Printing Society, an international organization promoting awareness and education about creating art from natural objects. His Gyotaku style is traditional and delicate, and emphasizes the structure and movement of the fish and shellfish he prints. Rick has made thousands of SCUBA dives around the worlds places such as Australia, Fiji, the Philippines, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Costa Rica, the Caribbean Sea, Hawaii, Alaska, the Continental US, and the Mediterranean Sea. He has won awards for his undersea photos of fishes and invertebrates, and concentrates on documenting the amazing colors of undersea creatures.
