we are going though an Apologetics study by Michael Lane .. Its a study that goes through the questions of Why do you believe what you believe? for most of us in this group its the the questions of Why do you believe in God? The first of the 8 week study is Is there a God? Psalm 14:1 (ESV) The fool says in his heart, there is no God. Answer this question: where did God come from? This is a question that has been asked since the ancient times, but it can answered easily if one uses logic. For God to have come from someplace or have been to created, there would have to be another God who made Him. But then were left with another question, where did that God come from? The answer is simple and is proclaimed in the Old and New Testaments. God is eternal. 69 times God is referred to as having no beginning and no end. Here are a few Isaiah 57:15, Micah 5:2, 1Chron. 16:36, Neh. 9:5, Job 36:26, Psalm 90:2, Proverbs 8:23-25, Isaiah 41:6, Isaiah 44:6, Habakkuk 1:12, 1 John 2:13, Rev. 1:4, Rev. 4:8. But before we continue lets look at the alternative that those who deny the existences of God. How then do they believe that everything came to be? Darwinian evolution in which matter and its organization came about by random chance. One of those people, Richard Dawkins, (famed evolutionist), has sated: evolution allows me to be an atheists. But the fact is Darwin did not base his ideas on experimental proof. Charles Darwins writings owed too much to imagination and too little hard scientific facts. Louis Pasteur (founder of modern medicine) quoted. And what he is saying is there is no evidence to support this faith of Darwins. Its a conjecture, an assumption, a guess. It does not fit into the realm of science at all. Darwin himself stated his book the origin of species by natural selection.. That the evidence would be forthcoming in the form of transitional fossils showing that the links from one presents life to another. These transitional fossils would evidently prove that all life descended from a common my form, a first cell. The problem with that after 150 years of search diligently for this fossils evidence, not one link has been found.. Their excuse for this we havent found them yet but we will. Now think of Mount Rushmore or the Great Wall China. No one would believe me if I said that They resulted from erosion or some random chance or some other natural process. Both of these are result of intelligence (someone made them). We can see that and easily believe it. So why cant you see the existence of God from his handiwork? Say the the mountains and the sunset and sunrise can you see the handiwork of God in these? There is a God, and He wants you to believe in Him, to know and to trust Him, He has His brushstrokes of creation all around you to consistency tell you that He is real and He is alive.
