well, it had to happen sometime! I finally fell in to the marina today. just slipped in my cheapo crocs when striding off the boat, a bit sleepy still this morning. fortunately this marina is not as gruesomely dirty as many, and I did not go beyond my neck. took Grant and a passer-by to pull me out, embarrassing as I only had a light dressing gown on, so revealed all, but rather that than any of the other possibilities in falling off a boat! nothing worse than shaken and grazed and bruised knees! grant more shaken than me. After, we went to talk to the people who deal with boat repairs and overwintering, and have almost certainly decided to stay in Almerimar. Then I bought a cheapo fold-up chair and beach umbrella, and blissfully spent the whole day on the local beach reading and swimming. Clearly the solution to over-hot sweaty days. that is what I plan to spend the next two weeks doing, as I have only swum about ten times on the whole trip. need to catch up with that. turns out thee is a wonderful supermarket here which rivals Pingu Doce in Lisbon, and has a huge and excellent fish counter, so we will have lots of seafood again too. when we looked up Motril, it said you moor to dolphins, which sounded exciting but a bit hard on the cetaceans. Turns out dolphins are metal mooring posts with a fishtail shape. could be due to reading Lady Chatterley, but one of the empty estates of flats here has worryingly erect penis shaped staircase towers, but not pink.
