well not just france , most Europe has figured it out. i was shocked about the lack of support the government give for pregnant women and moms out there working. i am from germany and was on 3 year parental leave , since i was out of state i didnt get paid but i had my job promised back . you get around 60% pay on leave and also the dad can take some of the time , say if the mom has a good paid job so the dad can stay home for a while instead , so they can split it up . well its actually the health insurance paying the maternity leave and the rest is called parental leave , where the money comes from the government. the goverment pays child support additional for each child, its around 200 dollars...me personally i think thats one of the many reason we have more peace in europe , like germany the government does actually care about you. many german citizen just dont see it because they never looked in other countries ... myfoxchicago/story/25841932/obama-says-us-should-have-paid-maternity-leave
