well today marks the end of my business life. I no longer have a Poodle Parlour and I have sold the building in which it operated. I cant believe that at last I am free of the stress and worry of trying to run a business during the last several years, with all my health problems. Fortunately since 1973 when I commenced I have always put some of my profits into shares and I managed to purchase the shop itself in l982 and pay off the mortgage. Thankfully this was before capital gains tax came into being. I have had some wonderful employees over the years, many of them leaving me to open their own grooming businesses, the most notable being Lex Henery, Stewart Budd and Edwina Thomas. Roslyn Thomas has been an absolute rock for me and took over the job of organising the closure of my business and all the associated problems involved in cancelling utilities, insurances etc. As a thank you and because I need someone to continue keeping an eye on me as I recover from my recent operation Roslyn and I are flying to Singapore where the cruise ship Voyager of the Seas is currently being refitted for its Australian cruising season and we are joining it for its repositioning to Sydney. I think we both deserve some R & R and to be spoiled and we are both looking forward to this adventure. Oh and I will continue breeding toy Poodles.
