well, went hunting with my buddy nick today and we both did well. I shot a nice drake mallard and he ended up with a nice honker, there is a funny story on both. my mallard came into the decoys locked up a few hundred yards out and I took the first shot a and it was a hit. a lot of feathers came out and Nicholas didnt know it at the time but my gun locked up so I couldnt take another shot. he put a few shells into it as well and it went down a few hundred yards up stream. but by the time we got there a hawk had ahold of it and had tore up a large fraction of its back! I was shocked as it only took a few minutes to get to it. when we got it nick told me there were some geese upstream and I was surprised as I had just shot. so I hang back cause I figured it was nicks turn and I had killed a limit of geese earlier this week. so nick goes up around the corner and the geese got up they were what we later determined to be just over 100 yard out there, I was shocked when he shot at them. I was even more shocked when one of the larger birds in the group came down dead!! nice shooting nick!!! while we were getting the goose I thought it would be a great idea to fall into the river GUN FIRST so that pretty much ruined the end of my hunt, I missed out on a pair of mallards and a nice drake golded eye due to my trigger freezing in place when I tried to pull it to shoot I couldnt!! I was not to happy about that haha
