They have also expressed that the €14 million investment in the youth guarantee in the 2014 Budget is insufficient. The European Youth Forum objects to the discriminatory practice of lowering unemployment benefits for young people. This measure can in no way be justified in the context of implementing the youth guarantee. The Forum believes that a core element of the youth guarantee is showing a commitment to young people, providing youth-friendly public employment services, and reaching out to disadvantaged and marginalised youth.
