western civilization is identified with the Magna Greece culture. The Myth, the History, the Vestigia (ruins???) and the charm that comes from it , characterizes the region Calabria and the importance of our roots. The archaeological research, thanks to the extraordinary discoveries, has documented all the cultures succeeded from the Prehistory to the Neolithic, to the Bronze Age and the Gol contacts with the Aegean-Mycenaean world had already been handed on us from the epic literature. From the 8th Century B.C. , the foundation of great Greek colonies with consequent cultural hegemonies, boosted the development of the civilization on which the modern western thought is based. It is enough to think to the insertion of the town-planning (o Urbanistic??)system, the law development, the literature, the philosophy, the medicine, the athletics and art of course, to the use of currency, and finally to the technical, artisan and agricultural innovations . We have seen, studied and breathed all this and much more, through what remains in our cities and in our land (territory???) (is still alive). We discovered and pointed out sites which were known only through literary sources, we saved and recovered many finds to exhibit in our museums, we participated to very important excavations’ campaigns together with the most famous European archaeologists. And we, “Who have been Greek, but greater Greek too” (L.Siciliani), we filled our eyes up with sadness seeing shambles and destructions, abandoned sites, glorious monuments which had been spoiled. The non-knowledge of one’s own past, of the thought and of art, has brought to a barbaric decline. The negligence and the wild aggression stroke once again to a past that luckily is eternal. Our precious dream is to bring in everybody’s houses a touchable example of the ancient artistic artisan, working with the old and ancient techniques, with the same materials, assembling in one art the four elements of nature: ground, water, air and fire: moulding the clay with the same passion of whom works for Gods and not for men.
