when I read that the NBA rejected the lone slot given them at the proposed national conference, my first reaction was a smile then laughter, with no disrespect intended here to my lawyer friends, how many slot was given the doctors, accountants, engineers, bankers journalists and other professional associations in Nigeria? may be other professional bodies have LESS stake and contribute less than our learned friends at the bar. the modalities for the conference is definitely not perfect but I think the number of participants is too much already especially when they MUST have 75% vote to pass any item and must do so on the too many issues to be discussed within 3 month.
