when be bow before the cross and are moved by the passion there. Some are moved in merely human ways. they see a dying victim on roman crucifix and cry. They would do the same at anyones crucifixion. and rightly so for it was gross and disturbing. but what made the centurion or solider kneel at Christ death and say, surely this man is the son of God. what converted that gentile while he saw that Jew die? because of how he died and loved in his death and plead with God for men and endured without cursing and spite and forgive his captors and that made this solider see in his death and blood and gore, GLORY! we suffer and bleed and die why? for the same reason. which is greater treasure to me, that mans soul in my suffering or my ease in this world?
