when it comes to matters of intra religious sectarian arguments, I usually stay back partly because I do not want to say the truth when Im almost sure it will yield no positive change, and partly because of the aftermath of doing so.... but today i found myself in a state that necessitated me to talk the talk.... as the political atmosphere in the country is taking new dimension, from partisan politicking to religion and sectionalism, from Democracy to democrazy and autocracy...it became necessary for the Muslim Ummah to unite and speak with one BIG VOICE in anticipation of the 2015 general polls..... when peeped into Aminiya, 1st November edition, I saw something as terrible as any other thing coming out from where it is least expected.... an Islamic cleric taking stance with the enemy of muslims, enemy of the ummah, a kaafir, a mushrik.... GEJ..... but before i proceed, i want to disclose my stance as regards sects in Islam- i am of the view that belonging to any of the Islamic sects is not part of the deen, otherwise i want to know the sect of rasul pbuh....and hence i do not belong to any of the sects and i do not identify with them...but rather I am a muslim like unto the noble prophet s.a.w. nevertheless, i do everything together with other muslims because i prefer unity of the ummah to its fragmentation...... that point clear let us proceed.... it was sheikh dahiru usman bauchi, the renowned tijjaniyyah scholar who made an utterance that he shall not on any condition owe allegiance or support any politician who assocites himself with the izaalah sect..... i want us to meditate over the following verses before we go on... بَشِّرِ الْمُنَافِقِينَ بِأَنَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا To the Hypocrites give the glad tidings that there is for them (but) a grievous penalty;- Surah An-Nisa, Verse 139: الَّذِينَ يَتَّخِذُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَيَبْتَغُونَ عِندَهُمُ الْعِزَّةَ فَإِنَّ الْعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًا Yea, to those who take for friends unbelievers rather than believers: is it honour they seek among them? Nay,- all honour is with Allah. (English - Yusuf Ali) Surah At-Taubah, Verse 1: بَرَاءَةٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ إِلَى الَّذِينَ عَاهَدتُّم مِّنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ A (declaration) of immunity from Allah and His Messenger, to those of the Pagans with whom ye have contracted mutual alliances:- (English - Yusuf Ali) Surah At-Taubah, Verse 8: كَيْفَ وَإِن يَظْهَرُوا عَلَيْكُمْ لَا يَرْقُبُوا فِيكُمْ إِلًّا وَلَا ذِمَّةً يُرْضُونَكُم بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَتَأْبَىٰ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ How (can there be such a league), seeing that if they get an advantage over you, they respect not in you the ties either of kinship or of covenant? With (fair words from) their mouths they entice you, but their hearts are averse from you; and most of them are rebellious and wicked. Surah Al-Mumtahina, Verse 1: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا عَدُوِّي وَعَدُوَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ تُلْقُونَ إِلَيْهِم بِالْمَوَدَّةِ وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا بِمَا جَاءَكُم مِّنَ الْحَقِّ يُخْرِجُونَ الرَّسُولَ وَإِيَّاكُمْ أَن تُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ رَبِّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ خَرَجْتُمْ جِهَادًا فِي سَبِيلِي وَابْتِغَاءَ مَرْضَاتِي تُسِرُّونَ إِلَيْهِم بِالْمَوَدَّةِ وَأَنَا أَعْلَمُ بِمَا أَخْفَيْتُمْ وَمَا أَعْلَنتُمْ وَمَن يَفْعَلْهُ مِنكُمْ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَاءَ السَّبِيلِ O ye who believe! Take not my enemies and yours as friends (or protectors),- offering them (your) love, even though they have rejected the Truth that has come to you, and have (on the contrary) driven out the Prophet and yourselves (from your homes), (simply) because ye believe in Allah your Lord! If ye have come out to strive in My Way and to seek My Good Pleasure, (take them not as friends), holding secret converse of love (and friendship) with them: for I know full well all that ye conceal and all that ye reveal. And any of you that does this has strayed from the Straight Path. Surah Aal-e-Imran, Verse 28: لَّا يَتَّخِذِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ اللَّهِ فِي شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَن تَتَّقُوا مِنْهُمْ تُقَاةً وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اللَّهُ نَفْسَهُ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ الْمَصِيرُ Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah: except by way of precaution, that ye may Guard yourselves from them. But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself; for the final goal is to Allah. IT IS COMPLETELY HARAAM FOR A MUSLIM to prefer a kaafir over his fellow muslim brothers no màtter what.....
