while we were watching the live stream of the TRC openings an elder who was identified as elder Joe spoke out, he said something to the effect of: "who are you, you dont represent me, or speak for me" (someone who was in attendance confirmed this for us) he was shushed, ignored, and led off to the side to stop disrupting the talking heads. a few people called out and said: "let him speak, give him the mic" they were ignored too. the MC didnt even try to listen he just kept saying thank you thank you and trying to move, the next speaker seth george talked about listening to and respecting elders yet made no mention of the elder who was just ignored and disrespected. also they are selling tshirts for $20 bucks which i guess is fair enough but with funders like kinder morgan, and trans canada you would think they could afford to give them away and also ensure the survivors had accomodations and food expenses equal too those who get paychecks already and are not poor and worried about, gas, travel, food, and shelter!! wheres the reconciliation in that >:(
