with beef prices at an all time high, I thiought I share some value meals. Tonight I fixed a 2.11 lb shoulder roast that was on sale last week at heb for 2.95 lb for a total of 6.23. Very easy to fix and didnt take long. Total cooking time till roast was very tender and lots of thick gravy was about 3 to 3.5 hours. Just make sure when you pick a roast, choose one that is meaty with some fat but not alot. Dont pick one that is very lean, this will be a dry roast. Also, most beef cuts are very expensive at stores, so catch roasts on sale. Shoulder roast are one of my favorits for flavor and tenderness. The roast I fixed tonight easily would feed 4 people.
