woke up this morning and the sun is shining, it is a beautiful day. How could that be? Wisconsin made a terrible choice yesterday and we will surely suffer for it. Even so, we have to congratulate Gov Walker for winning this race and we have to congratulate Mary Burke for putting up a good fight. She fought well and the campaign did a great job. It is just sad that Wisconsin did not come through for her. How could Scott Walker win? Walker won with the help of the Koch brothers, older men, especially married men, those with high incomes, the rural and suburban voters, the regular church goers and those over 40. So now we are disappointed, defeated and deflated. We are down. Our hearts aches for our children and their future, we ache for our grandchildren. It boggles our minds that Wisconsin chose not to move forward to better our state, to better the lives of the Wisconsinites. A friend of mine, Cyn, had an “election vigil” thread going last night, she asked that peeps post their thoughts and to maybe add a song that illustrated the mood of the poster. Someone posted Grateful Dead’s “Ship of fools”. I have chosen two songs and I will post them below with comments.
