working on my last paper of the week, a biography for my social work course. i had picked up a book from my local library earlier this week, but since i had my children in tow and was distracted, i didnt realize until last night when i sat down to peruse it that it was a historical novel. today i was in topeka for yet another doctors appointment for liam, and went to the library while the children played at grandmas. i was hoping there would be some way i could check out materials, considering i paid property taxes in shawnee county until the middle of december. no luck. i asked if we could do some sort of reverse interlibrary loan. nope. so while picking up an ILL back home tonight, i mention my plight to one of the wamego librarians, who recommended i try google books. right - thats a thing! so now i am reading the first written biography of my chosen subject, penned mere years after she died. it will work. i just couldnt imagine turning in a paper with only websites as references. #oldschool #newschool
