wow. what an amazing time on the road with C.j. Thebatman Oswald and Andrew Roulette. Bats Dynamic String Band was blessed to be on the bill with some amazing acts and we got to spread some family love around to some really cool folks all over west virginia and southwest pa.! we really felt the love everywhere we went :) it was great to finally see Schmidts Saloon, the davisson bros. place in morgantown where we played with cornmeal, which was something else let me tell ya, and it was great to see Gary Antol and Libby Eddy :) finally making it to Pink Moon Festival, and getting to play with Chief Greenbud was fantastic. seeing ZEN Merry ZENsters at Trips Farm - Sunshine Day Dream Memorial Parkfor the first time since Trip passed was a special and powerful experience for me :) Gradually prying all of the pirates fans away from the big screen TVs at Primanti Brothers in pittsburgh was gratifying and so were the showers at the hotel rooms there :) my favorite night though was partying with all the fuggin cool assed folks down at Rinky Dinks Roadhouse in amity, pa.....truly one of the jewels of our civilization, and listening to, playing with and dancing to the Rusty Haywhackers is just plain good for the soul. all the love and respect in the world to those beautiful people, sorry Matthew Locy it took so long to get your The Mad Tea Party Jam lanyard back to you! (which reminds me Jauna Fluv Claypool...do you still have mine?) Nothing but great memories with great people all up and down the appallachians i am truly a blessed individual and i hope everyone who is involved on the regular with these types of happenings in whatever capacity takes some time every now and again to contemplate how fortunate we are to see and experience (never mind the miracle of simply FINDING) the magic that is part of our lives. i honestly have no idea how everyone else can deal with life without the magic of music, and the more you learn, the more you DO, the more you give, the more you dance, the more you see,the more you love, the more magic it all becomes....together we create it, and i am beginning to think we are the last true wizards on earth, these little islands of magic surrounded by a dead wasteland full of the blind and dumb.... but unfortunately not mute. stay true,stay strong, stay love.
