wya Sustain – Stage 2 Of The Food Programme Initiative. Some People Talk – Some People Moan –WYA Just Do! wya Sustain is a follow on from wyaiftar2014 that was delivered during Ramadan 2014 which entailed supporting the Local Church Food Bank which operates from Christ Church, Carr Road, Nelson. This Food Bank is part of the Nelson Churches In Covenant Outreach Programme which consists of various Churches and the Salvation Army WORKING TOGETHER to address Food Poverty and disadvantage in Pendle. WYA have taken it upon themselves to support this worthwhile cause, instead of just opening up its own Food Bank which it could quite easily do. The Charity has decided to work TOGETHER with others who have greater knowledge and expertise on the matter in hand. It also fosters good relations with all Communities when working together for a common purpose instead of thinking that we are experts on everything like others. It must also be pointed out that this Programme is entirely SELF FUNDED through GENEROUS DONATIONS from the local and wider Community – IT IS NOT EXTERNALLY FUNDED, this way THE CHARITY DECIDES what requires to be addressed without conditions attached, SELF-RELIANCE THAT IS THE KEY! WYA does not count the number of Individual Food Items it purchases to demonstrate to Funders what it is doing - BUT IF IT DID THEN IN 2 DELIVERIES OVER 500 ITEMS ALONE! WYA are always looking for suitable Partners to work alongside when delivering their Community Initiatives but vets them closely to ensure that they are in it for the right reasons and not just for PR & Marketing purposes. Recently the Charity has struck a Partnership with Local International Charity Muslim Global Relief to work on The Food Programme Initiative who will also be providing their EXPERTISE through their experience of providing International Aid in Disaster Areas for the past 10 Years. If you would like to support the Work the Charity is delivering please contact us through Facebook Messaging or email [email protected] WYA - Creating United Communities, Creating A Better Pendle!
