yes, its true... our morale sank like a sinking ship facing the greatest monstrosity about what had just happened... and about our own government on how they responded to the screaming agony of our fellow Filipinos who were victims of this nightmare... I myself silently condemned my government, as an OFW, I only RELIED on the news about the whole story, saw videos, dead bodies everywhere, homeless kababayan, yes... hunger and thirst, lost loveones, it figuratively kills every cell of me... I even cried during work, here in Hong Kong... Mahirap talaga mawala lahat, buhay, bahay, kabuhayan... I instantly blamed the Government for lack of leadership skills and initiative UNTIL i read this open letter by GERALDINE UY WONG, marami pa pala tayong hindi alam and yet we easily render judgment... after I read her letter, I felt little relieved to know na hindi pa rin pala sila nagpabaya, madaling manisi, madaling magcompare sa isang bansa gaya ng Japan, we are not like them in many other aspects, this is PHilippines, my Philippines, yes we have to painfully admit, we are from a developing country, not a DEVELOPED one as the others, we are still on the PROCESS of cleaning corruption... I know we dont have a perfect government or leaders or specifically,a perfect president, but at least we have a good one compared before, AYOKO PA RING MAWALAN NG PAG ASA NA MAKAKABANGON ANG PILIPINAS, we still need to trust them because they are our government, may mga pumalpak man pero I know God is with us and with them... Lets be optimistic. and to you Ms. Wong, thanks for regaining my confidence in any way to our government... we really need it in moments like these...
