yesterday during the airport standby, i was challenged by a lady: Why Chinese people dont speak English? my first reaction was: Why should we? she said: because English is important! well, her friend had just travelled back from China, and a lot of inconveniences caused by the language, i feel sorry for that, but as i know the population who speak Chinese is more than 1.1billion, and the English speakers are just around 0.3billion, and now everyone in the world wanna get a share in Chinese market, and they are eager to learn Chinese! i am not saying we dont need to learn English,for sure if we can speak English, we can understand the world much better, we can get much more information, we can communicate with many more people……meanwhile, lets have a look Japan and Korea, same as asian countries, Japan and Korea are more internationalized, the whole world people are using their productions, but when you walk around their streets, shopping at their malls, you hardly find someone can speak English, most the labels are only written in their own languages!……why why why? our government maybe should start to consider stopping forcing all the students to learn English, let them spend more time on whatever they like: maths, science, chemistry,biology,physics……please let our genius generations focus on what they like, lets look forward to the new productions with the unique technologies belong to us, lets shock the world with new inventions and creations! because even if all Chinese speak fluent English, it wont really make big differences, we can tell this from some other countries!
