you are the different dialects of rain, and on lonely nights like this, i’m reminded that you speak a language that not many people in this town would understand. i want to crack open the vertebrae of your most painful memories, and watch light pour out. i want to be able to tell you: “look. look how beautiful you are when you bleed into colours that i’ve never seen before.” it’s so easy to lose yourself in the split seconds between the falling of droplets of rain. it’s so easy to lose yourself in the body of another human being- so easy to want to have them submerge themselves in your bloodstream and course through your veins, just so that your every heartbeat contains them. it’s tragic how we adopt the habits and tendencies of the ones we love. years later, we find ourselves still replicating their mannerisms. and how can you forget someone when they’ve imprinted on you like that? when someone has left metaphorical lacerations on your skin with their touch, how do you wake up one morning and stop caring? it’s sad to lose someone when you feel as if you understand the language of their soul. it’s sad to lose somebody so immense that you can still hear the inhale/exhale of their breathing when it’s quiet and lonely. everything i write is jumbled and fragmented, but that’s alright. pain isn’t chronological. sometimes we wake up a year later, only to truly realise what we lost back then. you are the constant to every equation of my heart and i miss you so much that i can feel it trapped inside my bones. -boycott love.
