youtu.be/0obbCeub_sk Horizon is one of my favorites! I was thrilled to cut piano for this tune, and was also very excited when I heard the chorus for the first time. I remember saying now THATS a chorus, boys! (I was away for a Saturday rehearsal when they put the melody together). I very much like the pocket in the 2nd verse! Very cool rhythms. Although the song has an overall uplifting feel, its actually kind of a downer! Temporary escape is all I need. Your face is all I see when I close my eyes. I look to the sky to find release so I can erase all these memories. Preachin to the choir buddy, I know all too well what that feels like! When a relationship ends, we all look within ourselves to see what went wrong. There was such a difference between me and the person you wanted me to be. Bummer! But lets not forget folks, a healthy relationship is a two way street. Gone again to the horizon, makes me think of a good way to cope with the loss. Do something that makes you happy, keep your head in the clouds, and keep moving toward the horizon (good advice at least for a drag racer)! Some thoughts on post-production. Its hilariously outrageous how much time Gaelan, Gabe, and Kevin made poor Johnny Marshall spend on tweaking the mix of this tune. After hearing the first mix I thought sounds great! However they rest of the crew spent about another 25 collective hours across a few sessions making tweaks to the final mix. I could barely tell the difference when it was all said and done! But these are my dogs, and I support them even when I think theyre wasting time! I cleaned out my parents fridge and backyard shed while they were in the studio doing all that button pressing. In the end, were all happy with this great song! -Sam
