Progress is always threatened. in every endeavor to gain something is the natural process of some other thing to do the same. in every direction, every dimension, down every hole, up every tree. a wise artist told me this: a true artist has no problems destroying his own work. Dont love something so hard that you never work again. thats never getting a freshness, never renewing the mind. and thats right. i didnt build this just to watch it fall and say, oh, what a waste of time. No... i built it to build it. the work was its own reward. and as i watch what Ive built get torn to shreds by some greedy government or societal standard of the times... i sigh but rejoice a little. knowing i will create again. (Im not saying Im gonna make more kids.) this is an ideal i hold sacred. this is the great escape from hell straight to heaven. this is why art. this is why life. this needs sweeping away. and with that sentiment, i forgive you, sandi. i forgive you for taking my children.
