This is one that Id heard snippets of at random of the past few years, but never learned the title or artists. The melody would waft into my head, but I didnt have any leads on what this song actually was until one day, presumably in March of this year. The song wafted into my head, and simultaneously, serendipitously, I heard the same song coming from the downstairs television, where my pop was watching American Idol. I rushed down and get the name of the song before it finished. Jessica Meuse was the Idol performer, and Harry Connick, Jr. schooled her pretty good on the gravity of the lyrics, of which I knew nothing at the time, either. The darkness of the subject matter distinguished the tune for me, leading to a spot on my world-famous countdown.
