youtu.be/eiJC5d7nRNg This promotional video, commissioned by Bonaire Tourism, is a fine example of my composition and arrangement services. Usually, for these kind of productions, filmmakers choose a ready-made, canned music clip and edit their shots to the music. In this case, I was able to offer my skills as a writer/producer in order to do it the other way around: The director paces his shots the optimal way, builds his storytelling arc and I reinforce and complement with custom made music fitting the overall mood and atmosphere. Note the tranquil but intense string arrangement to support the intro with a percussion build-up, the Ships Theme for overall visitors activities, the high-energy drum part with guitar solo for the fun-filled action sports, and the sparse mysterious percussion for the SCUBA segments. And of course: Frame-by-frame placement of percussion and guitar accents during the shots of the folk troupe playing is just a lot of fun (and tricky!) to put together! I hope you have just as much fun watching this as I had composing the music. Kudos to Hendrik Wuijts of Scubavision for the great editing and wonderful imaging!
