youtube/watch?v=1sLFisBiZxI My son showed me this clip, then I read another posting from the local news channel that they are proposing the same thing at the old Grumman Place in Bethpage. The gentleman makes a lot of good points, I took a minute to reread my oath of enlistment in the Navy, yes it does say I will defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic, it also says that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States but if you look at the oath that officers recite it doesnt say that and there is no expiration date on the oath I took. He also makes a very good point when he reminds the local politician that they work for the people and not the other way around and that their salaries are paid by the local people and not the government in Richmond. Perhaps it is time to remind all politicians that they work for the local voting public, which if youve ever seen The Gangs of New York, can be a bad thing; vote early and vote often, do not think that they would not stoop so low as to get these people in Nassau County and then once they are citizens, get them registered in the local party in power. Once they are in Bethpage who is going to pay for the housing, food, medical, educational and spiritual care? no matter how you look at it, us, the tax payers. I understand a lot of people would consider this a case of NIMBY but I know of no other answer to this problem.
