youtube/watch?v=mwv2nZYAKag Many have said we need an plan to develop empty land on the eastern end in the next five years? What is the rush when urban areas in the older parts of Moreno Valley are lacking due to blight, problems with infrastructure, lack of tenants, revenue, and more. When a street or area of town looks run down why would industry of merit seek to invest in them long term, especially small business owners? This is why it is increasingly more common to see liquor stores, cash for gold outlets, cheap lending and pay advanced businesses, and others that discourage larger businesses from investing. Moreno Valley could benefit from a term that others in the area have done such as in downtowns such as Riverside, Yucaipa, Temecula and others, redevelopment. Areas such as these have either restored older buildings or improved the infrastructure to encourage investment of this kind. Even the Mission Inn in downtown Riverside is a product of this type of private public partnership first such type of project in that community. Moreno Valley does not have a traditional downtown, but it does have central corridors of commerce such as Sunnymead Boulevard, Alessandro Boulevard, Cactus, the 395 frontage road, and others which could use improvement and reinvestment by the community. However, it can have a similar area of business and commerce in the future. As exampled below, Temecula, even created its own from scratch when it had none. Certain things might be an area for Moreno Valley to learn from. What are your ideas for long term job creation in Moreno Valley other than in logistics? Post them below.
