“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8). You would agree with me that you could put so much effort into a project and yield very limited result at the end. As much as human effort is required in getting results, it’s simply not enough. There are times we face circumstances that may be beyond human control, and only those who tap into God’s resources can attain. For example, a farmer can encounter natural disasters; diseases may attack his crops or animals, and these could run him not only into losses but into debts. When we learn to exercise the power of confessing and declaring God’s Word over our challenges, everything will fall into place. But even that is not all – you have to stay plugged to your source. Abraham was a typical example of a man who was concerned with keeping a good relationship with his source of supply and strength, and that’s Jehovah. Abraham was noted considerably for his life of abundance and prosperity. In fact, the Bible describes him as “...a father of many nations... (Genesis 17:4). He was blessed from every side but he never emphasized on his wealth, power, position or achievements. He concerned himself with being in the Lord’s perfect will. And doing what the Lord expected of him was his priority. Abraham’s obedience dignified him; he was a man who knew to obey God irrespective of his desire. The Bible says, “...Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness (Galatians 3:6). In other words, Abraham’s credibility was based on his entire obedience to God. Likewise, your obedience to the voice of God will promote you.
