أحمد التيجاني سيد احمد حلقة جديدة من في انتظار كوش A new episode from Waiting for Kush by Ahmed Ahmed Eltigani Sidahmed 126- Khulud-n-Balay (1-Salman Moro) Talking about Khulud can not be meaningful without remembering Salman Moro. Salman Moro the fourth generation Nubianized Arab was a remarkable person. Dark, thin, medium height, and swift like a mountainous yemeni worrier .The contrast was in his calm eyes and his shy misty gaze into secret beautiful heart breaking horizons ....and in memories! Salman Moro celebrated tearful memories while on his deathbed in Atbara General Hospital. Remembering Sadig Moro was in itself a worthwhile soothing. Who could ask for more if his father was Sadig Moro? Who could not relish lifetime memories of the magnificent camel rider and the rough waters sailer? The islands on Abka cataract were made for Sadig Moro to sail. The fish harvests were meant to be his. The birds flying and populating the sky over the sail boat were there to accompany Sadig Moro as his falcon gaze goes beyond the horizons. While sailing or riding his race camel along the mountainous landscape Sadig Moro had the habit of remembering his ancestors who struggled to learn Nobin as fast as they could in order to voluntarily assimilate the Nubian culture they have chosen as destiny when they migrated to Nubia from Mecca! Salman Moro remembered in his deathbed how he and Khulud grew up in the limitless beauty of TinonAmen. Who can’t be lucky if the parents were Hajija Bouchae and Sadig Moro; Kanna Menaya and Ustaz Mohamed Saliah Saeed. Seed and his mother Arahila were true Nubians who loved the soil and the tress of TinonAmen and insisted to build one of the most beautiful Nubian homes facing the river (which people of TinonAmen called Amen or Water). Khulud’s beauty was special. Her blossoming fresh wheat color body, and her brownish /blueish eyes were a call for the historians and genealogists to marvel the rich heritage of the Kandakas and the hybrid vigor. Nobody who grew up with Khulud was immune from an inside want to marry her. But she picked the shy slim Saman Moro. Top Shari Abdelnabi and AmanAlla lead land and riverboat wedding dances that continued for a week. Khulud-n-Balaie was history ! People flocked to the island in traditional Nubian solidarity to assist the bride and the groom in having an unforgettable wedding. People brought sacks of wheat flour, ground and fresh beans, best selections of dates, honey, fluid butter (noi), Araki, Dakkai, beautifully crafted mats ( bershii) and all thinkable needs for the long-waited for wedding of the beauty queen of the Abkans. Tar and Kisir rhythms echoed the Jebili surrounding Kid-n-Too and beyond. Rumors were that special birds carried the songs and the beats beyond Kid-n-Too along the Nile valley north and south of Faras to as far as 1000 miles each direction. Kulud-n-Balay was a fierce confirmation of the unity and eternity of the Kushites. Girls came in scores with their beautifully braided front hair (Gussa) in beautiful dresses and colourful scarfs (Binatti). Women selected the best of the black Chevon Jar-Jars that added to the colorful underneath dresses beauty, mystery and lust! Each woman was dressed with jewelry (Deheb-n-seegha ) that passed to her from her ancestors. The elders danced as if this was their first dance and the sprouting hearts passed strong wireless emotions through their shy gazes and secret dreams. Umda Uglan and his close friends returned to catch up with morning prayer after ending an eventful night at his famous Methaelai circle. Started Umda with his hoarse voice. - Landi gaiyalal Kusafina - Samra-n- gubala menjika - Sandalonga Kustan degetaman - Essi-n-editta dokkitana - The swift small boat knows where to end its journey - Certainly at the shore nearest to the house of that beautiful girl Samra - Polygamous keep away, you are not allowed to disturb the tranquility Then Aman tickled his Tar in a slow low quite rhythm…sprinkling the the quietness with endless slow beats and unimaginable vocals: Elai laylahaillala Mohamed Yarasoullala Kousin Jullai wou Kossin Jullai Masan Jourtig-onnisina-ny Dian Enebbe Ounnie - Allah is one and Mohamed is his Profit - Acacia Tree Acacia Tree - Enough giving birth to bitter fruits - It is time you bear sweat grapes The birds stayed still on the air. The butterflies stopped wavering their colorful wings. The water falls took a calm detour to avoid disturbing the solmn prayers of the Tar. The frogs stopped their jump-and-croak rhythm, some hanging in the endless space. The Abkan woke up by the thundering jets chasing away the government troops who were protecting the thugs and illegal gold and archeology miners and thieves. After his usually inspired focus on the echo of the Abkan war, he returned to pursue his dream and to recast Khulud-n-Balay…. .
