)١ (رمضان The noble Quran: The Almighty says what what means: O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed those before you that you may become righteous. [Fasting for] a limited number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then an equal number of days [are to be made up]. And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] - a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person [each day]. And whoever volunteers excess - it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew. [Al-Baqarah 183-184] The Prophet (PBUH) said, “When the first night of the month of Ramadan comes, the devils and rebellious jinn are chained up and the gates of Hell are closed, and not one gate of it is opened. The gates of Paradise are opened and not one gate of it is closed. And a caller cries out: ‘O seeker of good, proceed; O seeker of evil, desist. And Allah has those whom He frees from the Fire, and that happens every night.” [at-Tirmidhi, - Classed as Hasan by Sh al-Albaani] Goal: make your goal/aim that the month (Ramadan) does not run out without him (Allah) forgiving you sins, and that he changes you shortcomings/disadvantages into righteousness/advantages. enlightenment: “The Righteous predecessors used to call upon Allah for six months until Ramadan reached them, then they would call on Him the other six months that Allah may accept it from them.” May Allah azza wa jal accept our fasts and make Jannah our final abode.
