Subject – Allotment of budget for BILARA- BAR railway line. Sir, We are the residents of the town BILRA a tehsil head quarter sin Jodhpur district of Rajasthan and situated at SH-12 (Jodhpur – Jaipur highway). Of the 15 new express trains related to North Western Railway, proposed in the budget, five have been given to the religious hotspot Ajmer. Ajmer has dwarfed Rajasthan capital (also represented by a Congress MP Dr Mahesh Joshi) as the Pink City has secured only two new trains. Not only Jaipur, even Jodhpur (the home district of Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot) has only managed a single direct train, the weekly Valsad-Jodhpur Express. Ajmer has also secured a new passenger train connecting it five days a week with Pushkar. Jodhpur too has secured a passenger train Jodhpur-Bilara Passenger. Also, the extension of existing trains has seen Ajmer as a major gainer, as Jaipur-Amritsar Express has been extended to Ajmer, Durg-Jaipur Express being extended to Ajmer and Kolkata-Ajmer Express being extended to Ahmedabad. Besides trains for Ajmer, Pilot’s magic worked in getting new infrastructural projects, particularly proposals for new lines sent to Planning Commission for clearance. The three new Ajmer specific proposals include Ajmer-Kota (Nasirabad-Jalindari), Ajmer-Sawai Madhopur via Tonk and Pushkar-Merta. Besides, the Bilara-Bar project pertains to Ajmer. Importantly, Pilot had written to PM Dr Manmohan Singh recently to include in the budget the Ajmer-Kota (Nasirabad-Jalindri) proposal. An official of NWR Ajmer division said Pilot’s strong influence in New Delhi has been playing an important role in getting projects for Ajmer. Even in the last budget of Mamata Banerjee, Ajmer was the major beneficiary. Meanwhile, the principal opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has slammed the Jaipur MP Dr Mahesh Joshi for being unable to get sufficient trains for Jaipur. “Most trains going to Ajmer have established that the Jaipur MP has failed to click in New Delhi,” state BJP vice-president Suman Sharma said.
