ये भीड UREA के लिये तिलमलाते किसानों की है। किसी चुनावी-सभा की नहीं। Scramble for urea in Narwana Tribune News Service Narwana, January 5 Chaos prevailed in Narwana old grain market today for around two hours after farmers of surrounding villages converged in front of HAFED shop to purchase urea. The huge crowd caused commotion-like situation in absence of the police. Later, when the police arrived, farmers pushed a head constable, who lost his balance and fell on the floor. This led to use of sticks over them to make them stand in queues. As per the information, farmers converged in front of local HAFED shop and raised slogans against the Haryana Government for slow distribution of urea, but when policemen tried to make them stand in queues, a few of them objected as they alleged they were being pushed behind many persons, who came after them on shop. During attempts of policemen to ask all of them to stand in queues, some farmers allegedly pushed an unidentified constable, who fell on floor. Other policemen allegedly used sticks over farmers to control them. After getting information about the use of sticks over some farmers, Narwana police station SHO Hawa Singh and Garhi police station SHO Somvir under the supervision of Safidon DSP Harinder Singh along with Narwana SDM Sumit Kumar reached the spot. Chaos continued for more than one hour as farmers refused to stand in queues and listened to SDM and policemen. After a while, the SDM asked the HAFED authorities to begin with the distribution of urea, but farmers refused to stand in queues. After a peace of 10-15 minutes, farmers again broke queues forcing the authorities to stop the distribution of urea. Farmers alleged that policemen cane-charged, but policemen denied the charge and said they used stick over farmers just to control the crowd after a constable pushed by farmers fell on floor. Later, SDM Narwana climbed atop HAFED shop and addressed farmers through a loudspeaker. He asked all to reach the Narwana Sadar police station as the administration shifted the the distribution of urea to station from HAFED shop to maintain law and order. “There was not lathicharge and all reports are totally false. Farmers misbehaved with policemen when they asked them to stand in queues. We deployed police just to maintain law and order. Urea is being sold in police station and we would not allow anyone to black market it,” said the SDM
