Have you performed your own duty? Indirect Speech: The man asked the boy why he (boy) disturbed him. He (the man) again asked the boy if he had performed his own duty. 7. Reporting Speech-এ Yes or No থাকলে Indirect Speech করার সময় যথাক্রমে replied in the affirmative that এবং replied in the negative that ব্যবহার করতে হয়। বা Subject + পূর্বের Interrogative Sentence-এর সঙ্গে সংগতিপূর্ণ appropriate auxiliary verb বসাতে হয়। যেমন: Direct Speech: Mehenaj said to Rehnaj, Have you completed your assignment? No, I have not completed yet. I will complete it today, said Rehnaj. Indirect Speech: Mehenaj asked Rehnaj if she (R) had completed her assignment. Rehnaj replied in the negative that she (R) had not completed yet. She (R) added that she (R) would complete it that day. 8. Direct Speech–এ Sir থাকলে Indirect Speech করার সময় Sir-এর পরিবর্তে respectfully/ with respect ব্যবহার করতে হয়। তবে Sentence-এর প্রথমে Addressing as sir ব্যবহার করেও Indirect Speech-এ রূপান্তর করা যায়। যেমন: Direct Speech: The boy said to the headmaster, Sir, please pardon me this time. Indirect Speech: The boy respectfully requested the headmaster to pardon him that time. 9. Direct Speech-এ যদি কাউকে address (সম্বোধন) করা হয় তাহলে addressing as দিয়ে Indirect Speech শুরু করতে হয়। যেমন: Direct Speech: Are you hungry, friends? said the shrewd king. Indirect Speech: Addressing them as friends, the shrewd king asked if they were hungry. 10. Direct Speech-এ Speaker বা বক্তা যদি একই সঙ্গে Assertive sentence এবং Interrogative sentence-এর মাধ্যমে তার বক্তব্য প্রকাশ করে থাকে, সে ক্ষেত্রে sentenceটি and দ্বারা যুক্ত হয় বা sentence এর শুরুতে then বসে। যেমন: Direct Speech: The teacher said to Mahmud, Why are you talking in the class? You should behave yourself. Indirect Speech: The teacher asked Mahmud why he was talking in the class and said that he (M) should behave himself.
