THE WORLDS LEADING & FAMOUS SCHOLAR WRITE: ________________________________________ The Sikh and Sikhism By Dr W.H. McLeod.1999. The Divine Saints Sat guru’s constructed the pristine religion during the construction of Islam, as we studied in depth of Guru Granth more we find and unlock the mystery surrounding who is the originator of Sikhism? The pattern evolved by Nanak is reworking of the SANT, Saints synthesis, one in which does not depart far from Sant, Saints source as far as its fundamental components are concerned. The categories employed by Nanuk dev ji are the categories of the SANT, Saints the terminology he use is their terminology, and the doctrine he affirms are their doctrines.. What earlier SANT, Saints had developed he inherited the components of his thoughts from the SANT, Saints. But he did not transmit his inheritance unchanged. He received a synthesis and he passed it on. It is the SANT, Saints thought which we find in his work, but it is SANT, Saints thought expanded and inherited, reinterpreted which within the patter n of SANT, Saints belief but which nevertheless posses a significant originality and in contrast with its SANT, Saints background a unique clarity. It possesses, more over, the quality of survival, for it remains today the substance of a living faith. The linage, which commences with the humble Sant Saints the convention derived from the traditional Sant emphasis on the value of associating with the truly devout, an experience which enabled the humble participant to acquire apportion of the merit which emanated from the true holy (Sadh, Satguru) Sikh and Sikhism By Dr W.H. Mcleod 1999. The lineage, which commences with the humble Sant Saints the convention derived from the traditional Sant emphasis on the value of associating with the truly devout, an experience which enabled the humble participant to acquire apportion of the merit which emanated from the true holy (Sadh, Satguru) The Sikhism By Dr W.H. Mcleod.1999. However scholars would level this by now as a plagiarism. In the spiritual lineage of kinship there fore Nanuk ji cannot be separated from the teaching of the SANT, Saints. Satguru Ruvdas: makes the characteristic Sants, Saint’s emphases, with an evident stress upon the irrelevancy of caste in all that concerns a man’s salvation. Even stronger emphasis and one which is peculiarly attractive figure Its only the Saints (Sants) who uniquely developed the interior path spirituality is mapped out in great details. There is no caste among saints and sages. A sage is like a lion out of the cage, free from shackles of caste, creed, profession, tradition and scripture. Do not look to the caste of saints and sages. You will not be benefited. You cannot imbibe their virtues. In higher religion, there is neither caste nor creed. Cobblers, weavers, and untouchables had become the best saints. Their sayings never clash. The messages of the saints are essentially the same. They have always been a call to men to discover the Wisdom of the Self or Atma A Saint (Sat guru) is a God on earth. To him, the whole world is mere straw. To him, gold and stone are alike. To him, pleasure and pain are the same. A saint lives in God. He has realized God. He knows God. He has become God. He speaks of God. He shows the way to God. He is God-intoxicated. He is God Himself. He is one with God. Saints are Gods agents on earth. God reveals Himself in a saint in His full glory; infinite power, wisdom and bliss. The saints constitute a ladder for the pilgrims to the shrine of God. Wherever saints and sages stay even for a half-second, then and there are sacred places like Varanasi (Kaashi), utter Pardesh and Pandherpur and Narsi Namdev from Maharashatra. India. THE reader is invited to direct his mind to a moment of deeply-felt religious experience, as little as possible qualified by other forms of consciousness. Whoever cannot do this, whoever knows no such moments in his experience, is requested to read no further; for it is not easy to discuss questions of religious psychology with one who can recollect the emotions of his adolescence, the discomforts of indigestion, or, say, social feelings, but cannot recall any intrinsically religious feelings. We do not blame such a one, when he tries for himself to advance as far as he can with the help of such principles of explanation as he knows, interpreting. THE IMPORTANCE OF SATSANG, THE INFLUENCE OF COMPANY OF HOLY _________________________________________ It is a law of nature that things assume good or bad qualities and take different shapes owing to different association. Man certainly no exception to it. In the holy association of Saints he slowly and gradually imbeds Saintly qualities and strives for God realization. Without the Satsang, company of the Holy reverend Saints there can be no upsurge of spiritual disposition, and without it no love and devotion for God can arise, impurity will remain. If the impurity remains soul will not be free from recycle of birth. Seek the company of sants and evolve. SATSANG with sants is unfailing in its results the four castes — the Kh’shaatriyas, Brahmins, Soodras and Vaishyas — are equal in respect to the teachings One may read all the books of the Vedas, the Bible, the Simritees and the Shaastras, but they will not bring liberation. Millions of cleansing baths at sacred shrines of pilgrimage only fill the mortal with filth in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga. One, who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, becomes spotlessly pure. There are four castes: Brahmin, Kh’shaatriya, Soodra and Vaishya, and there are four stages of life. One, who meditates on the Lord, is the most distinguished and renowned. The poor castor oil plant, growing near the sandalwood tree, becomes fragrant; in the same way, the sinner, associating with the Saints. Page 747 Guru Granth Ji, On Behalf of Mahla Pehla Mahla Panjva Ji, expalins: “No one is as great as the Saints. The Bhagats are in harmony; He is in the water, the land, and the sky. Millions of sinners have been saved in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; the Messenger of Death does not even approach them. One who practices the Teachings of the Saints, by Guru’s Grace, is carried across. One may read all the books of the Vedas, the Bible, the Simritees and the Shaastras, but they will not bring liberation.” SATGURU RUVDAS AND THE FOUR VARANS ____________________________________________ Four Varans who flocked to his divine forecourt for his holy blessing i.e.Kshatriyas, Brahmins, Soodras and Vaisyas and Reverenced by the world. Brahmins, Kshatriyas and Vaisyas, these were the three twice-born orders, belonging to the Original Aryan stock, who had practically the same rights and privileges. The fourth Varn deprived same rights which he is regarded by the higher classes. The position which caste occupies in the early stages of Hinduism is comparatively insignificant, but from the time when Manu wrote his Laws down to the present age, the place which it fills is of the greatest possible importance. One fact is clear, that we must revise the current idea of the extreme antiquity of caste as we find it in existence. The caste, like the tribe, is a collection of families or groups of families bearing a common name. In the case of a tribe this common name does not indicate community of function. But the title of a caste usually implies that all its members follow the same occupation. On Page 733 Guru Granth Ji, On behalf of Sri Nanuk Ji, Mahla Pehla, Mahla Panjva Ji, explains: Hear the ineffable word of God, my brethren, by which all anxiety, pain, and hunger are removed. DEATH TRIUMPHS OVER ALL EXCEPT GOD’S SINCERE WORSHIPPERS. _______________________________________________ Submissive Nanuk Ji, to higher authority. Holy men are not led off in triumph by Death; they become insensibly blended with God. ”The glory of the Holy people is not known to the Vedas. They can describe only what they have heard. The God-conscious being cannot be described in words. The God-conscious being is the Lord and Master of all. Kavir, Death will not disgrace mine understanding since I have repeated the name of the Cherisher who created him. They are the only divine and holy: “All bows in reverence to Him. No one asks about their ancestry and social status; instead, they yearn for the dust of their feet. O Lord Master, such is Your Name. In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, Nanak has obtained understanding; singing the Kirtan of the Lords Praises is his only support. Namdev, Trilochan, Kavir and Ruvdas Chamar have been liberated attained Salvation and became Immortal.” On behalf of Mahla Phelam Mahla Panjva Ji, explains: “Saints themselves chants and inspires others to chant the Naam the Name of the Lord. My mind is filled with the Mantra of the Holy Saints, and I have risen above the three qualities Gazing upon the Blessed Vision, the Darshan of Bhagat, Satguru, my eyes are filled with love. I am a sacrifice to that occasion. Twenty-four hours a day, those meditate in remembrance on their God; by great good fortune, they have found the Lord. Kavir is merciful the slave of the Lord’s slaves; the humble barber Sain is supreme. Highest of the high is Namdev, who looked upon all alike; Ruvdas became Thakur the embodiment, Manifestation of God. They attain the supreme state of Nirvana. They attain the immortal status and eradicate their self-conceit; how rare is that person, who contemplates spiritual wisdom. Attuned to the Naam, they attain Sidh Gosht — conversation with the Siddhas. Attuned to the Naam, they practice intense meditation forever. Attuned to the Naam, they live the true and excellent lifestyle. They attain the fourth state, and are liberated. Those who meditate on it are all emancipated; they attain the eternal and unchanging home. Here we have ample evidence conveyed to us such knowledge that we were able to present and supports the real truth to higher and higher cultural levels and levels of individual self-awarene. You know what I am going to say. I am going to say that every book which high light into the back ground of religious history, you will find the similar following statements made by ignorant followers, this include magazines as well as news papers, writers and Rages Dhadis etc. Except Nanuk Ji, Mahla Pehla, People Says: “Sikhism originated in Punjab in 1469 with the birth of Sr Nanak Ji and preaches devotion and remembrance of a one God at all times, truthful living, secularism, equality of mankind and denounces superstitions and blind rituals. We believe in GURU GRANTH Ji.” In the textual record of Nanak Ji, Mahla Pehla, There are 343 recurring lines or passages in his textual record in praise of his beloved Guru, Sant Guru, Bhagat Satguru, Thakur Gosai and Suami . _____________________________________________ . ਹਰਿ - ਸੋਹੰ -ਸਤਿਨਾਮੁ ॥ हरि -सोहं - सतिनामु ॥ .
