ด่วนครับ โค้ชเชจะกลับไทยแล้ว ทำทีมเทควันโดต่อด้วย South Korean-born coach Choi Young-seok, who has worked with the Thai Taekwondo national team, said on Friday (July 18) that he had decided to return to Thailand, after suffering from allegations of excessive punishment on an athlete. A Thai national team member, Rungravee Khurasa, reportedly claimed Choi punched her several times during last weeks Korean Open after she lost a match. The Taekwondo Association of Thailand (TAT) has told Thai media that coach Choi did nothing wrong and it would try to do everything possible to convince him to return and train the Thai athletes again. Yesterday I spoke to the chairman of the Thailand Taekwondo Association and made my decision this morning to return to Thailand, Choi told Reuters on Friday (July 18). Choi will fly to Thailand this Sunday (July 20) and will continue in his role. Thanks to lots of support and messages from Thai people as well as my athletes, I have decided to come back to Thailand, and do my job that has been left, to win Olympic gold medals, Choi added. Choi said it was a small disciplinary punishment. Apart from victory or defeat, since she basically didnt do what she had to prepare, we had a chat about discipline and it was nothing more than a small disciplinary punishment, Choi said. Since Choi started to coach the Thai national team in 2002, he led the team to win one silver and two bronze medals at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.
