EXP and strong in IT network • Familiar with Semiconductor Manufacturing IT concepts Primary Function: The Network Engineer will ensure the stability and integrity of voice, data and wireless network services through planning, design and development of local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) across the Asia Factory Operation organization. This individual will be responsible for the installation, monitoring, optimization, support and maintenance of all network hardware, software and communication links. The Network Engineer will analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate manner as well as provide end-user training where required. Educational Background: • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology or Engineering course. Experience: 1. 5 years equivalent work experience 2. Strong knowledge and in-depth experience on installation, monitoring, optimization and troubleshooting of IT networks in a 7x24 manufacturing environment. Must have experience implementing and executing mission critical SLAs, designing and maintaining fully redundant architectures/systems, Disaster Recovery Plans, Business Continuity Plans, 8D/RCA, Network/Systems health monitoring and advanced troubleshooting techniques for infrastructure systems/architectures. 3. Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation. Knowledge, skill and abilities: 1. Working technical knowledge with network capacity planning, network security principles and general network management best practices. 2. Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network and operating systems, including UNIX/Linux, Solaris, Windows and current applications architecture running on these platforms, as well as open source technologies 3. Working knowledge of telephony systems, including analog/digital and IP PBX systems. 4. Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards. 5. Competence with monitoring and testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits. 6. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. 7. Familiar with Semiconductor Manufacturing IT concepts and applications such as PROMIS, CAMSTAR, FACTORYWORKS, WORKSTREAM, tool automation, SPC, APC, FDC, dispatching, scheduling, modelling, simulation, flow management, equipment management, lot management, enterprise integration and standard reporting. 8. Able to perform well in a multi-tasking environment. 9. Strong understanding of industry-standard technical practices and emerging technologies. 10. This position requires 7x24 on-call support Major Duties & Responsibilities: • Collaborate with Asia Factory Operation department heads and Corporate MIS in the assessment of near and long-term data and voice network capacity needs. • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to equipment inventory, network configuration, network mapping, processes, and maintenance records. • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery. • Design and deploy company LAN, WAN, voice and wireless networks, including servers, PBX, routers, hubs, switches, UPS, and other hardware. • Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for supporting business objectives and processes. • Monitor network performance, resource utilization and troubleshoot problem areas as needed. • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices. • Ensure network connectivity of all production equipment, servers, workstations, telephony equipment and other network appliances. • Manage servers, including file, database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software. • Practice effective IT asset management by maintaining equipment and component inventory, performing regular maintenance, managing capacity, and maintaining component or equipment replacement schedule. • Monitor and test data and voice network performance and resource utilization. Provide network performance statistics and reports on a regular basis. • Perform server and systems security audits, system backups and recovery. • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the information technology and networking industry. • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software installation and upgrades. • Coordinate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors in securing infrastructure-specific products and services. • Ensure that the company’s commitment on environmental management, health and safety is observed and performed. • Be aware of the company’s quality and environmental policies.
