მე ერთხელ ვთქვი, რომ ვერასოდეს გავუგებდი იმ ადამიანს, რომელსაც უყვარს ნადირობა და ცხოველის მოკვლაში სიამოვნებას იღებსთქო. ბ-ნ გოგი თოფაძეს კი უთქვამს, რომ ვისაც ნადირობა არ უყვარს ის ქართული გენის არ არისო (ვინაიდან მესამე პირმა მითხრა, თავს ვერ დავდებ ამ უკანასკნელი გამონათქვამის სისწორეზე)... ასეა თუ ისე, საკმაოდ საინტერესო შეხვედრა გვქონდა ქორუღის აღკვეთილში იორის სამონადირეო მეურნეობაში დღეს ჩვენ ორს. მე გარკვეულწილად შემეცვალა აზრი ნადირობასთან დაკავშირებით და გაგებით ვეკიდები მონადირეთა გულისტკივილს; ასევე იმედი მაქვს, რომ ბ-ნი გოგიც ასევე არ მიმიჩნევს უცხო გორის ადამიანად... ყველა გადაწყვეტილება, რომელიც მიღებული იქნება ნადირობის სფეროში, უნდა იყოს კანონთან თავსებადი და ამ სფეროს ექსპერტების მიერ მხარდაჭერილი. ვინაიდან ხუთშაბათს ვაპირებ არასამთავრობო სექტორის წარმომადგენლებთან შეხვედრას, დაგეგმილი მაქვს ამ თემების წამოწევა და მხოლოდ კონსულტაციების შემდეგ იქნება მიღებული საბოლოო გადაწყვეტილება. I once said that I would never understand people who love hunting and take pleasure in killing wildlife. Mr. Gogi Topadze, on the other hand, stated that whoever dislikes hunting does not have Georgian genes. (As I have not heard it personally, the statement is a paraphrase based on what I was told from a third person. As such, I cannot vouch for the complete accuracy of the aforementioned statement.) Whatever his words may have been, Mr. Topadze and I had a very interesting meeting today in the Korughi managed area at the Iori plain forest hunting lodge. After this meeting, I began to reconsider my position on some hunting related issues and can now understand the concerns of Georgia’s responsible hunters. On the other hand, I also hope that Mr. Gogi will also reevaluate his initial attitude towards those who do not like hunting. However, all of the decisions that will be made with regard to the subject of hunting must be in compliance with the law and supported by those who understand and are experts of the field. I intend to hold my monthly consultative meeting with leading Georgian environmental NGOs and experts this Thursday. I want to discuss this topic in detail and only after these consultations I will make a final decision.
